This 200 contact hour program is based on solid understandings of the body and mind and applied to yoga practice. Our methodology of teaching is based upon research in communication psychology to what works to hold the interest of a room full of people and inspire them to want to know more.

Module 1: Yoga Elements CORE
Practice fundamentals & Anatomy
September 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 – October 1, 7, 8, 2017

Build an understanding of yourself from inside-out, learning how to move your body and get that feel-good alignment in all your yoga postures. These are the anatomical, practice fundamentals of an embodied, breath-based yoga practice as we do it at Yoga Elements Studio. This immersion will give you the anatomy knowledge and practice experience and detail to use in your teachings. Explore your body, advance your practice. Open to all participants.
Module 2: BREATH & BANDHA
YES Pranayama Teacher Training
October 14, 15, 21, 2017

Get the knowledge and tools you need to teach pranayama in yoga classes, pranayama classes, with private clients and to further deepen your own pranayama practice. This training explores the anatomy and physiology of breathing, body ‘locks’ (bandha), extended practice sessions as well as the esoteric dimensions of mind and philosophy of prana
Module 3: Yoga Elements Teaching Methods I
Adjustments & Sequences
October 22, 28, 29 – November 4, 2017

Requirement for entry: Completion of Yoga Elements CORE or minimum RYT 200 certification
Learn how and when to give your students the best adjustments in any yoga pose. This course will install within you a pattern recognition ability so that you you’ll know who to turn your attention to while smoothly keeping your class flowing. Using a ‘self-discovery’ model of learning, exploring learning in small groups through teaching, adjusting, as well as giving and receiving feedback. You’ll know what works, and when. Requirement for entry: Completion of Yoga Elements CORE or minimum RYT 200 certification
Module 4: Inner Yoga with Carlos Pomeda
Introduction to Yoga History & Philosophy
November 11 – 12, 2017

Carlos Pomeda is known as one of the world’s best teachers of yogic philosophy. He holds two masters degrees, one in Sanskrit and the other in religious studies. As a teacher, Carlos is renowned for the breadth of his knowledge and the clarity with which he conveys it. His great love of the Indian yoga traditions, his insight, his humor and his deep connection with his audiences give him the ability to transmit the deepest scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful and applicable. Studying with Carlos is an enjoyable and transformative experience. Topics for this weekend include: History and Evolution of Yoga, The Yoga of the Upaniṣads, The Yogas of the Bhagavad Gītā, The Yoga of Vedānta, and Tantra and Haṭha Yoga
Module 5: Experiential Philosophy
November 18 – 19, 2017

Experience the deeper aspects of yoga and it’s transformative effects on your mind and emotions. This is a unique and experiential course usingbreathing, meditation, trance, and conceptual spaces through discussion, partner and group work. You will experience how to generate states of being and understand them through the lens of traditional philosophical foundations of yoga. Open to all participants
Module 6: Yoga Elements Teaching Methods II
Teaching Skills & Communication
November 25, 26 – December 2, 3, 9, 10, 2017

Requirements for entry: 1 year of regular practice, plus completion of module 1-4 OR previous certification as an RYT 200
How does a person go from knowing ‘about’ yoga to being an inspiring teacher? In this course, this is the transformation you will experience. You will experience specialized exercises to enhance your communication abilities, and teach 5 full-length classes applying new and different skills and get valuable feedback. This course is all about the differences between the good and the great and what it takes to inspire people to feel good, love yoga, and continue their practice. This unique training experience will transform your body, your life, and your abilities in teaching. We will get knowledge in to your body through sequenced learning experiences. Whether you decide to take this four month program to develop your yoga practice or for becoming an extraordinary teacher, this is the way to go! (48 credit hours) Requirements for entry: 1 year of regular practice, plus completion of module 1-4 OR previous certification as an RYT 200
Application & Requirement: Applicant must have at least one year of yoga practice experience. You must also provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher with your application. Existing students at Yoga Elements simply need to apply in person with Adrian Cox. Apply early: 24 participants only! These courses will prepare you to either take your 2 practical exams right away, or apply for ongoing apprenticeship with Adrian Cox. Certification as a Yoga Elements teacher is not automatic and will require preparation and examination after the last day of the course.

Adrian Cox (course director and main teacher) originally from Seattle, is the founder and director of Yoga Elements. He has been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for 18 years. A dedicated practitioner he has studied with many teachers and in many styles of yoga. His classes and trainings draw upon an in-depth study and practice of yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, philosophy, mind, and linguistics for over 20 years. He applies NLP methodology to teaching and coaching and teaches trainings, retreats, and conferences throughout the world.
Carlos Pomeda (Inner Yoga) Carlos has been steeped in all aspects of the yoga tradition during more than 40 years of practice and study. He spent 18 of those years as a monk of the Saraswati order, including 9 years of traditional training and practice in India. He has taught meditation and philosophy to tens of thousands of students around the world. Carlos is renowned for the breadth of his knowledge and the clarity with which he conveys it. His great love of the Indian yoga traditions, his insight, his humor and his deep connection with his audiences give him the ability to transmit the deepest scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful and applicable. Studying with Carlos is an enjoyable and transformative experience.
Application and Requirement:
Applicant must have at least one year of consistent yoga practice experience. Please provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher with your application. Yoga Elements students simply apply in person. These courses prepare you to take 2 practical exams right away, or apply for ongoing apprenticeship. Certification as a Yoga Elements teacher is not automatic and will require preparation and examination after the last day of the course.
Details: Course begins September 16 to December 10: Weekends 9AM – 5PM.
During the course you will also be practicing in group classes at the studio as much as you have time for. We begin promptly at 9 AM so pleasearrive a bit early, ready to practice.
